Letterers

Letterers decide whether a whisper has air around it. On a phone-sized reader, a stacked sound effect can smother a face the penciller spent a day on. Our letterer files mark balloon tail direction, caption box voice, and whether a digital conversion reflowed the letters badly.

NFT comics sometimes arrive from a print file that was never re-lettered for a tall screen. We note that production fact without blaming a trademark owner we do not represent.

Collectors who argue about “which variant is louder” are often arguing about letters, not pencils. A creator spotlight feature can put the letterer in the centre for once.
