About the Leeds desk

Independent writers in Leeds who treat digital Marvel comics as sequential art and keep creator credits in honest files.

Portal Craft Line started as a Saturday habit: three readers comparing variant covers on a laptop in a Leeds café, arguing about who actually coloured a night-time rooftop chase. The argument needed paper. The paper became folders. The folders became a desk on Albion Street.

Mission

We write about Marvel NFT comic creators as craftspeople — pencillers, inkers, colourists, letterers, cover illustrators — and we write for collectors who still want to read. The token may be how a file is issued. The page is still the point.

Origin

Early files were photocopied credit lists taped into a sketchbook. When digital drops began to outrun the sketchbook, we rented a small room on Level 11, 72 Albion Street, Leeds LS1 5AP and bought a second monitor for side-by-side page markup. We remain a local editorial practice, not a platform.

People

Rowan Hale reads interiors and marks splash-page rhythm. Priya Nair rebuilds incomplete credit boxes and keeps the archive tidy. Elliot Grant writes variant-cover walkthroughs and hates a listing that says only “exclusive art.” Guest markers join for reading-circle packets when a school group books a packet by email.

None of us claim Marvel staff badges. We are readers with a filing system.

Working approach

We slow down. We print. We transcribe what is on the page before we consult a storefront blurb. If a public interview exists, we cite it. If it does not, we stay with the art. Clients speak with us by phone or email; we do not run a lead form because a form would flatten the very conversation we want.

Values

Honesty about gaps. Respect for trademark owners. No fake scarcity language around drops. No pretending a local ledger is a wallet. No claiming Veve, Marvel, Disney, or Binance asked us to exist.

Community

We leave printed one-sheets at independent comic tables when a stall-holder wants language for digital issues. We answer collector questions from the Leeds desk. If you want the same, call or email.
